NEWSLETTER: 10-27-21 — FINAL WEEK — We Need Your Help Canvassing & Texting!

How Many Days Until
Election Day 2021
(November 2)?
6 Days

We're down to the wire — less than a week before Election Day!! — and the races from Governor down to town councils are all competitive. Based on recent polling, Governor Phil Murphy's double-digit lead from this summer is down to the single digits, and we're starting to lose sleep over it.

South Jersey is polling strongly for Jack Ciattarelli (what are they thinking?!?), so we've got to make the most of  North Jersey's blue voters by maximizing turnout. NJ 11th for Change has identified five towns where we REALLY need to get out the vote (and where getting out the vote can make a difference down-ballot, too) and we'd like your help. Can you canvass? THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE! Please sign up for one of these great opportunities!! We've got a Fridays with Frelinghuysen reunion canvass, a Wayne Wednesdays reunion canvass, a visit with Mikie, and more.

It doesn't have to BE your town for you to make a DIFFERENCE — a statewide difference — by knocking doors there. We hope you'll join us!

Of course, we'll be at ALL of these launches with NJ 11th for Change swag — so if you're running low on PURPLE, you won't want to miss this! AND ... no matter where you canvass, there's a chance of a Flat Rodney photo-opp!!

** If you plan to come to any of these canvass launches, please sign up so you're on our email list in case there are any weather-related delays or cancellations!
Here they are:

SATURDAY, October 30, 9:30 AM in West Caldwell"Fridays with Frelinghuysen Reunion" canvass

with Rep.
Mikie Sherrill and LD26 NJ State Senate candidate Christine Clarke. SIGN UP LINK:

Whether you were a regular at Fridays with Frelinghuysen, or never had the opportunity — we'd love to see you! We'll reminisce about our time MAKING CHANGE outside of Rodney's Morristown office — Mikie just getting her feet wet in the murky waters of NJ politics, Christine (often with babe in arms!) sharing the passion that has led her to her current exciting campaign. And we'll hear all about what is inspiring Mikie and Christine during this exciting election season!

Then OFF WE GO for a morning of canvassing — for Christine, for Governor Murphy, and for municipal candidates in West Caldwell. Make sure to bring your walking shoes and a fully charged phone!

It's going to be a great morning. Hope to see you there! Sign up here:

SATURDAY, October 30, 1:00 PM in Wayne
— "Wayne Wednesdays Reunion" canvass

with Sal Schifano, County Commissioner (and candidate for re-election!) John Bartlett, and LD40 state legislature candidates Genevieve Allard and Nicole McNamara. SIGN-UP LINK:

Back in Rodney Frelinghuysen's day, did you ever attend Wayne Wednesdays? Did you wish you had, but didn't? Either way, come join our canvassing launch / Wayne Wednesdays reunion!

In Wayne (of course), 1:00 pm on Saturday 10/30, with the inimitable Sal Schifano. We'll be canvassing to GOTV and keep Governor Murphy in office for "four more years!," and also supporting LD40/Passaic County candidates and municipal candidates!

You don't have to be from Wayne to attend — just enthusiastic, with comfortable shoes and a charged phone! Sign up here:

SUNDAY, October 31, 10:00 AM
 — "Happy Halloween!" canvass launches (Livingston, West Orange, and Glen Ridge)

Halloween afternoon and evening, trick-or-treaters will be knocking doors for candy. But Halloween MORNING? That's all about CANVASSING!

We hope you'll join us.... it's a great way to burn the candy-calories you'll take in once the kids zonk out and leave their candy hauls undefended (or you polish off the dregs of your trick-or-treater candy bowl). Plus, Livingston, Glen Ridge, and West Orange? These towns have lots of untapped blue voters that need a nudge to get them to the polls. Let's go nudge them!

We are so grateful for all of the hard work our NJ 11th for Change volunteers are doing. You are all stars!

Lauren Ebersol was already a super-volunteer: she wrote batches of both Young Voter and Early Voting postcards!! But then she got her husband involved, too, helping in a way we really needed assistance with. How, you ask? Cómo? He volunteered to be our text banking translator! When voters respond to our texts with questions in English about voting procedures, we do our best to answer. We even have a set of stock answers that volunteers can just click on, so the process is quick and easy. But what if the question is in Spanish? If the text banker isn't fluent in Spanish, we call upon Lauren's husband, who quickly and smoothly gets us the answer en español. We really appreciate his help — and so do our Spanish-speaking voters!

to share with your friends and neighbors

We can all be ambassadors for voter participation! If you encounter a friend or neighbor who needs answers about where, when, or how to vote (or, heck, who to vote for), here are some quick and easy resources you can share:

Your contributions make our work possible! In 2020, donations allowed us to make almost 160,000 voter contacts in New Jersey's 11th congressional district; our efforts were a big part of making 11 towns flip from Trump in 2016 to Biden in 2020, including some historically deep-red municipalities. Even Morris County turned blue!

Your generous donation goes towards our data analysis and voter-file access, text banking expenses, support for our events, printing, and much more. It allows us to continue our work building a government that is transparent, responsive and accountable. Please visit our "DONATE" link and pledge any amount. Every contribution helps as we charge ahead into 2021 and beyond!

NJ 11th for Change is a 501(c)(4) unaffiliated organization dedicated to advocating for all people of New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
