New Jersey is re-drawing the lines of our voting districts! This highly politicized process will affect who represents you in Washington and in Trenton — AND the power of your vote — for the next ten years.
2020's census data has now been released. That means New Jersey is hurriedly re-drawing the lines of our voting districts! This process is the epitome of "Jersey politics" — all wheeling and dealing in a bipartisan commission, with POWER — and lots of it — at stake.
Will YOUR town be moved into another congressional district, to be represented by a different Congressman or Congresswoman? Will you be shifted into a different legislative district, with different representatives in the State Senate and General Assembly in Trenton? Will redistricting give your vote more power, or will you be moved to a district where your vote is virtually meaningless?
The decisions being made now will determine New Jersey's political landscape for the next TEN YEARS. Please join us on Monday, September 13 at 7:00 PM for a discussion with Marcia Marley of BlueWaveNJ. With deep roots in New Jersey activism and a profound understanding of Jersey-style back-room wheeling and dealing, Marcia will give us important insight into the games being played — and what we can do about them.
Zoom link will be sent upon RSVP.
