Meeting The Moment
This is shaping up to be a year of dynamic, enormous change. We all feel it. See it. Know it.
Change Is Happening!
And we are all at the center of it. Which means NJ 11th for Change needs some help. You know we only ask for money if we really need it. Well, we REALLY need it.
Yes, so much is going on, and so much of it keeps us constantly on edge. Yet while it’s incredibly easy to despair, it’s only practical to hope, as the great oral historian Studs Terkel once observed.
It has been six years since our last fundraiser. We know we have the people power. This community shows up and does the work, which shows no signs of stopping. Here is what the calendar’s looking like so far:
- The CD11 special primary just a month ago.
- No Kings rallies on March 28th
- The CD 11 special general election on April 16 (VBMs arriving this week!)
- Another primary in June (the regular midterm primary).
- The general midterm election in November.
Change Is Happening!
In this critical year of 2026, we at NJ 11th for Change are determined to keep doing the essential work: Educating voters. Supporting candidates for change in NJ 11 and beyond (watch out, Tom Kean Jr.!) More huge No Kings rallies.
Over 20,000 people turned out for our events last year. This takes money, and that’s where you come in.
Come together on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, to support our work and remember what The Power Of Us can do in the pivotal year ahead. Get your tickets and join us to celebrate our community and fund our continued advocacy for all citizens of NJ’s 11th district.
Together, we can keep making the change that matters.

A look back at our 2020 fundraiser’s special guest. Remember this guy? Rodney something?
CALL TO ACTION IN ROSELAND
The US government is attempting to lease office space for 40 ICE lawyers at 5 Becker Farm Road in Roseland, NJ (part of the NJ 11th congressional district). We need to stop this before it starts. Write and call the management company now!
Details and call/letter scripts are in the Events section at the end of this newsletter.
We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.
Join us for NO KINGS Morristown on March 28th.
What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Over 20,000 people joined us for our events last year.
The urgency? The need? Even greater in 2026. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.
When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.
On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Membership Meeting in Montville! We heard from Analilia Mejia, our next Congresswoman. Did she wear purple? Purple jacket, purple top, even purple sneakers! She knows the way to our hearts. Check the events section for phone banking and canvassing opportunities as we support her path to victory in April! We need to send a message across NJ 11 and all the way to Washington that we need a fighter who will represent US, and not another Trump-supporting lapdog.
Vote by Mail ballots are going out this week, and drop boxes are open across the district!

Karol Ruiz from Wind of the Spirit gave a powerful and informative presentation on how to be an effective participant in ICE Watch actions.

Thanks to everyone who donated to support the families of our friends detained at Delaney Hall. We collected $1,250 in gift cards. We love when our community turns out.

2026 - Change is Happening and we are here to MAKE IT HAPPEN!

STOP ICE FROM OPENING A ROSELAND OFFICE!
The US government is attempting to lease office space for 40 ICE lawyers at 5 Becker Farm Road in Roseland, NJ (part of the NJ 11th congressional district). We need to stop this before it starts.
- These lawyers will be maneuvering to deport law-abiding members of our community, and to defend illegal state violence like the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
- We do not know if this facility will be used to process or house detainees, or as a staging ground for armed, masked government agents. Given past government lies, we cannot trust any assurances that this will not happen.
- This is part of our community. The building also houses a daycare center as well as many other businesses. It is immediately next to a huge residential development. It is reasonable to expect that protests would occur at an ICE office here. ICE has shown willingness to use tear gas and violence against protestors, which creates health risks for everyone in their vicinity. This is not a safe location for ICE to operate.
TELL THE OWNERS OF THE BUILDING THAT WE WILL NOT ACCEPT AN ICE FACILITY IN OUR COMMUNITY.
The building is owned by Aresco, a Long Island-based property management company. They are already facing pressure. We need your help to ramp it up.

DRAFT FORM LETTER
Date:
Dear [name],
I am a [Roseland resident, resident of the NJ 11th Congressional District, New Jersey resident, American citizen, etc], writing to urge you to stop ICE from opening a 40-person legal field office at 5 Becker Farm Road in Roseland, NJ.
- We do not know if this facility will be used to process or house detainees, or as a staging ground for armed, masked government agents. And given past lack of government transparency on this issue, we cannot trust any assurances that this would not happen in Roseland.
- This location is part of our community. The building also houses a daycare center as well as many other businesses. It is immediately next to a huge residential development. It is reasonable to expect that protests would occur at an ICE office here. ICE has shown elsewhere willingness to use tear gas and violence against protestors, which creates health risks for everyone in their vicinity. This is not a safe location for ICE to operate.
- I strenuously object to providing an operational facility to lawyers who will be fighting to deport law-abiding members of our community. Immigration issues are a civil, not a criminal offence. We should refuse to provide a base for ICE lawyers to defend illegal state violence like the racial profiling, arrest, and physical assault of American citizens, and the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
The best way to show that you care about the New Jersey community is to stop this office from opening. End the lease. Send ICE away.
Sincerely,
[your name]
