Congratulations to Analilia Mejia, who we can now declare is the winner of the CD 11 Special Primary election.
Thank you to Tom Malinowski and the other candidates who ran to represent us, it was truly inspiring to hear from all of you.
We deeply appreciate Tom’s gracious concession remarks, especially this: “It is essential that we send a Democrat to Washington to fill this seat, not a rubber stamp for Trump. Analilia deserves unequivocal praise and credit for running a positive campaign and for inspiring so many voters on Election Day”
We also strongly agree with Tom when he said this:
“… Our Democratic Party should have nothing to do with a pro-Trump-billionaire-funded organization that demands absolute fealty to positions that are outside the mainstream of the American pro-Israel community, and then smears those who don't fall into line. If AIPAC backs a candidate — openly or surreptitiously– in the June NJ-11 Congressional primary, I will oppose that candidate and urge my supporters to do so as well. The threat unlimited dark money poses to our democracy is far more significant than the views of a single member of Congress on Middle East policy.”

“The lesson from this race is that people power can win, and we can do it in 10 weeks … In 10 weeks, we built a campaign that others took months to assemble.
“This is not a race in which one individual won; this is a race in which the community stepped up and said, "What we want are real representatives who will listen to the people, who will ask questions about what is keeping you up at night, who will prioritize your interests over special interests."
Mark your calendars. The special general election is Thursday, April 16th. We ALL need to show up and send a huge message to Washington.
We are not messing around. We’ll say it again:
It is ESSENTIAL that we send a Democrat to Washington to fill this seat. A fighter who will stand up to Trump, not serve as a rubber stamp for him. A fighter who will represent everyone in our communities. In a House of Representatives where the margin is razor-thin, we look forward to having Analilia on our side against Trump, against Mike Johnson, against Vance, against all the lawlessness we are seeing every day coming from this administration.
It is critical that the 11th is still represented by someone who reflects our district and will fight for fairness and democracy in DC. We are confident that Analilia will be a transparent, responsive and accountable advocate for all people of New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
