Calling all volunteers!
The next No Kings call to action is coming up fast on Saturday, October 17. Attention:
THIS IS NOT A RALLY/PROTEST!!
It IS a call for community action. The October 17 No Kings Day will be highlighting one of our fav topics:
EARLY VOTING!
Along with our friends at the League of Women Voters, we are working to spread the word about early voting across the 11th District.
One big factor in this critical year is BLORRIS!
Have we mentioned that we are all about turning Morris BLUE? Control of the House goes through NJ 7, and Rebecca Bennett needs every Morris vote we can get. Not to mention, there’s a very real chance to (finally!) snag a Morris County Commissioner seat. Chris Russo is running a fantastic campaign. And there are a ton of additional opportunities to hold on to or flip municipal seats across Morris.
So yes, BLORRIS!
The Morris League of Women Voters has six tabling opportunities that need volunteers, with more to come. Check them all out here and sign up! (Note that this image is a screenshot, the active link is here.)
Remember: Voting Early (and VBM) are INSURANCE!
No matter how motivated you are, all sorts of things can get in the way and keep you from voting on Election Day. Like sick kids, a car that won’t start, or an emergency work meeting that runs long. Or maybe your train gets delayed. And of course there’s the risk of severe weather, which this time of year can mean anything from torrential rain to snow to hurricanes. (Remember the mess Hurricane Sandy made for voters in many of our NJ counties?)
Any of these things can affect Election Day turnout. This is why we encourage voters to vote by mail, or vote early, and bank those votes ahead of time.

Every day from now until Nov. 3rd is Election Day and all you need to be an Early Voting Evangelist is your voice (and maybe some swag). While the No Kings folks chose the 17th to raise awareness about early voting, in New Jersey early voting starts the following week on Oct. 24. We’re going to keep the momentum going and have more tabling events scheduled for the 24th and beyond. Check out the LWV’s link or send us an email.
