There is so much going on all at once.
We’ve been saying for months that New Jersey is in such a unique position. Not only do we have to deal with the current administration and all that brings, we ALSO have a VERY IMPORTANT GOVERNOR’S RACE. Over the next few weeks, we are all being asked to step up and do two or three things at once.
And right on cue, we had a perfectly fine newsletter coming together and then we got this announcement:

NJ’s second gubernatorial debate on Wednesday night has us FIRED UP! Not only did Mikie bring her A game (if only the Mets and Yankees… okay that’s for another time) but her opponent showed us once again how essential, critical, absolutely necessary it is that we make sure he doesn’t get anywhere near the governor’s office.
And how was our Congresswoman’s debate performance? Mikie brought the intelligent, thoughtful, composed, fact-based policies and plans we have come to expect from her. She was quick, fiery, and articulate and proved once again that she is the right woman for this moment and this office.
There are dozens of opportunities this weekend for YOU to get involved and make a difference. On Saturday, former Representative Gabby Giffords and her husband Arizona Senator Mark Kelly will be launching canvassing across Essex County). See the Events Section to sign up and we’ll see you there. You know we want to see your selfies on the page!
As long as you’re scheduling this weekend’s canvasses, let’s take a look at the following week. Oct. 18th is NO KINGS 2 and NJ 11th for Change has got some plans. We’ve said all along we can do two things at once and Oct. 18th is the day to prove that.
Frankly, it isn’t enough to just protest. It isn’t enough to just vote. We need to protest, AND vote, AND inspire others to do the same.
For our non-protest people:
If you aren’t attending a No Kings protest, join us at the Montclair Farmers’ Market on Oct.18th! Great for KIDS! Great if crowds aren’t for you! Great way to make an impact! And there’s really good bread. And pickles. And cider doughnuts… We need volunteers so drop us a note at [email protected] to sign up for a slot between 10am-2pm on Saturday, Oct. 18th. We’ll also be there Nov. 1st, that’s the Saturday right before the election, so sign up for one or both!
No Kings 2
NJ 11th for Change will be at the Montclair and Morristown No Kings and are sponsoring canvasses in conjunction with both events. This is a perfect opportunity to make your protest buddy your new canvassing buddy too!
