It’s enough to make anyone need a break …

… not to mention, some serious mental health care. 

We all need a break. 

We all deserve a break.

BUT NOT YET. 

If you care about the future of this country — your own future, your children’s and grandchildren’s future — you need to take personal action over the next four days.

Simply casting your own individual vote is not enough. If we’re going to make this happen, each of us has to share the responsibility of getting OTHER like-minded voters to cast their ballots, as well.

If you need to hear it from a fella — or a politician — or, well, a nonfictional character — here you go: 

What will YOU do to help get more voters to the polls? Here in New Jersey, we’re lucky. The key to victory here is simple: TURNING OUT VOTERS. We don’t need to have long acrimonious conversations at strangers’ front doors, trying to persuade lifelong conservatives to switch sides.

We just have to get people who already basically agree with us to get off the couch, fill out their ballots, and make their votes count.

Of course, that requires committed volunteers and activists like us to get off the couch first.

Or not. Text banking and phone banking are effective and easy to do from anywhere you feel comfortable — including the couch. Without so much as putting on shoes, you can remind voters about the importance of voting, and get them the information they need to do it right. Speaking of effective work that can be done from home, from the comfort of your couch or your own dining room table: We must, must, MUST recognize our spectacular team of postcarders, who did an incredible amount of hard work, in record time!

But the next step is the most crucial — the action proven most effective in getting out the vote, especially in the final days of a campaign:

Talking face-to-face with people in our communities is far and away the best way to influence them to VOTE!

That’s why Mikie Sherrill and Tom Malinowski, both in hotly contested races, have jam-packed their schedules this weekend to get together with volunteers, meet voters, and canvass every corner of their districts! And they need YOU to help. Scroll down to our Events & Volunteer Opportunities section to be AMAZED at all the times, dates, and places you can choose from!

For example! To mark the final weekend of the campaign, Mikie is coordinating three exciting “RALLY TO LAUNCH!” events — one in each of CD11’s counties. 

Senator Cory Booker and Governor Phil Murphy will be making appearances, along with some inspirational local candidates who need our support, too! 

Volunteers can gather together, rally our spirits with Mikie and other exciting speakers, and then commit a few hours to the biggest, best canvassing CD11 has ever seen!

It’s time for that final burst of energy to get the job done! 

Those of you who are watching the epic World Series battle between Houston and Philadelphia know: it’s all about commitment.

There is no jogging down the baseline hoping our opponent makes an unforced error.

If we want to win, we have to run through that base. 

Now through Tuesday, please make every day count. Send some texts. Sign up for a phone bank. And most importantly of all: choose a shift to canvass!  Not only is it the most effective way to GOTV, it's also a great way to build up your spirit of optimism and faith in your neighbors and fellow voters!
