Rachel Maddow Show - Goodbye Rodney 1/29/2018
days since Rep. Frelinghuysen's last town hall. Talk to us.
All around the country, members of congress are holding regular district hours and town halls with constituents, while our Congressman ignores our requests. Congressman Frelinghuysen, we've done our part. Now it's your turn. Schedule a town hall, or join us at one of ours.
Friday, February 23, 2018 at 11:00 AMRep. Rodney Frelinghuysen's Office in Morristown, NJ
Join fellow district 11 constituents for #FridayswithFrelinghuysen, a weekly gathering at Congressman Frelinghuysen's Morristown office. Hundreds of constituents are visiting his office every Friday. Let’s keep that momentum going.
This Friday, we will be at Frelinghuysen's office at 30 Schuyler Place, Morristown from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Please join us!
Start at 11 Washington Street first to meet other volunteers and sign in. We'll bring groups over to 30 Schuyler Place beginning at 11:15. Small groups will go into the office to speak with the staffers and ask their questions. We'll provide suggested talking points based on the votes and events of the past week. Group photo outside at noon!
Whether you speak from the heart or bring hard-hitting facts, you deserve a hearing from your elected official. But be respectful of the staff’s time, and that of your fellow constituents who are waiting. Many Fridayers find it helpful to focus on one or two current issues.· If you are addressing a Congressman’s vote or challenging his position on the issues, a personal story makes a difference.· Leave a letter at the end of your visit; the staff must log and respond to all letters.· Small tokens of appreciation for the staff (i.e., cookies) are fine if they are homemade and/or under $10 in value. A thank-you and a polite tone at all times are a must.
After you’ve participated a few Fridays, consider leading a group! Responsibilities include: signing in visitors, briefing first-time Friday-ers, organizing small groups, and assisting elderly people and visitors with small children. Click here to volunteer.
Come for five minutes or stay for an hour. The more of us who show up each Friday, the better.

NJ 11th for Change's Livingston Town Team presents Cori Menkin, an expert on gun laws and a resident of our 11th Congressional District, who will talk about Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen’s “yea” vote in Congress to approve “concealed carry” reciprocity, and what the real life implications would be of such a policy. She will also talk about the general landscape of gun regulation and what we should evaluate in a congressional candidate for the midterm elections. Cori works with Everytown for Gun Safety, but will be speaking in her individual capacity, not as a representative of that organization.
Cori will speak from 4pm to 5:30pm. Seating is limited, so reservations are required. Reserve your free tickets here (or use the TICKETS link below).
Livingston Town Team members and those who want to join — Please arrive an hour early for a meeting, from 3pm to 4pm.
